Xiaomi introduced a new laser projector

Xiaomi has introduced a new Full-Color Laser Theater projector. Unlike other models from this manufacturer, the novelty uses a three-color laser light source (RGB). To obtain a denser image, LCoC (liquid crystal on silicon) projection technology is used.
This is not a 4K model: the maximum resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. The picture is improved by motion compensation technology (MEMC) and the AIPQ algorithm, which scales a low-resolution image onto a large screen. Such technologies are used in modern TVs.
Responsible for performance is a 4-core Amlogic T982 processor, supplemented by 2 GB of RAM. The storage capacity is 16 GB. The built-in audio system consists of two speakers. It has passed the DTS and Dolby certifications.
On the rear panel there is a solid set of connectors: three HDMI 2.1, one each USB 3.0 and SPDIF, as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack and Ethernet. The device runs on MIUI TV, which allows you to watch content without connecting to an external source.
The Xiaomi Full-Color Laser Theater is priced at 6,499 yuan (≈$1,020) and will go on sale in China on April 1st. An international release of the device has not yet been announced.
