Xiaomi has announced a new Mijia Hub Gateway device that allows you to connect and sync operation of up to 300 smart home elements simultaneously (200 with Bluetooth Mesh and another 100 with the usual bluetooth).
It is alleged that thanks to a powerful Bluetooth amplifier, the device will be able to receive a signal even from remote rooms. Hub control is achieved through a new local hub architecture that allows you to create automation scripts for connected gadgets.
The device is equipped with a 4-core processor and has 4 GB of storage. Mijia Hub Gateway supports wired and wireless connection (Wi-Fi) and automatically backs up settings. Multiple hubs can also be networked and back up to each other.
The gadget has already appeared on the Xiaomi crowdfunding platform in China, where it can be pre-ordered for 309 yuan (≈$50). When it goes on public sale, the price will rise to 349 yuan (≈$55).
