Experts evaluated the maintainability of the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra

iFixit portal specialists dismantled fresh Samsung smartphones to evaluate their maintainability. According to the results of the study Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra received three points out of ten.

Flagship gadgets are structurally similar to the Samsung Galaxy S21 and S22 Ultra. The Ultra also inherited the smart S Pen from the closed Galaxy Note line of phablets.

Experts stressed that the experiment using a plastic back panel in the S21 probably failed. The Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra received fragile glass backs, and you need to disassemble them very carefully.

The experts concluded: the disassembly features of the new representatives of the Galaxy S line are not very different from their predecessors. Pretty much the only good thing about the design from a repairer's point of view is the standard Phillips screws, which are quick and easy to remove.

But it can be difficult to replace the battery, because many components are fixed with glue. Installing a new screen will not be easy for the same reason.

The specialists also noted that so far, Samsung has not provided a free public service manual for the Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra.
