But you should not do this.
Instructions for owners of Apple gadgets are actively distributed on the Web, in which it is recommended to disable automatic updating of operating systems. They say that this will protect equipment from remote shutdown or blocking by the manufacturer, which can impose sanctions against Russia.
The instructions also list supposedly safe versions of operating systems for the iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch, which definitely do not contain code that can block devices.
Such messages are spread by scammers. Disabling auto-update will not allow developers to quickly fix the vulnerabilities found, but will allow attackers to quickly use them to steal your personal data.
Through loopholes and security holes that sometimes discover cybersecurity experts, scammers can access your screen, sensitive financial information, browser history, text you type, and more.
Apple has not made any statements regarding the possibility of blocking or any restrictions on the operation of its devices in Russia or any other country ever.
