It withstands critical temperatures and chemical influences, while being quite light and comfortable.
The British company Vollebak has released the Apocalypse jacket, which will help the wearer survive the apocalypse. In its production, military and space technologies were used. For example, polybenzimidazole (PBI), a material developed by Dr. Karl Marvel for NASA's Apollo program in the late 1960s, was chosen for the outerwear.

According to Marvel, polybenzimidazole has high chemical and thermal stability. It withstands temperatures up to 1,300°C and does not crack or harden, unlike many other flame retardant fabrics.
Polybenzimidazole was supplemented with para-aramid, which is used to make armor. As a result, the Apocalypse jacket provides protection against heat, flash fire and arc blast while maintaining flexibility and durability. In addition, the material repels oil, gasoline, sulfuric acid, nitric acid and caustic soda. It also has antimicrobial properties, is resistant to ultraviolet radiation and absorbs moisture well.
The design of the Vollebak jacket is inspired by the 40-page Ready 101: Zombie Apocalypse 2021 report. It was prepared by specialists from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The design of the hood used patterns for the uniforms of the deck crews of US Air Force aircraft carriers of the 1950s. It folds into a wide tube and protects the face as much as possible, leaving an opening for breathing and vision. Inside the hood there is a wire that allows you to give the fabric almost any shape.

The creators of the jacket joked:
If this reminds you of Kenny from South Park, that's okay. Because the only thing we know about Kenny is that he was incredibly hard to kill.

The jacket does not constrain movements and weighs 1.7 kg. It has 23 inside pockets and 34 loop strips on the chest for storing ammo, flashlights and other gear. If necessary, it can be turned into a sleeping bag.
Apocalypse comes in an individual red fireproof canvas bag with heavy Velcro fastening. You can already have clothes order on the manufacturer's website. The price of the Vollebak jacket is $1,295 (≈97,900 rubles).
