Shottr for macOS takes your screenshots to the next level

A fast free tool with lots of features like scrolling shots, putty and annotations.
The built-in screenshot tool in macOS is quite convenient and functional. It would seem that it is difficult for third-party developers to surprise users with something, but the creators of Shottr succeeded.
The uniqueness of the application lies in its speed and a balanced set of useful features that simplify the work and eliminate the need to resort to the help of other applications.
Shottr is only 1.2MB in size and is optimized for Macs with an M1 chip. Screenshots are taken just instantly - you can even manage to save them even before the standard utility shows a preview.
You can interact with the application through the menu bar, where all image options are available, as well as using hot keys. By default, only Cmd + 1 and Cmd + 2 are involved, but if you want, it's easy to override the standard macOS shortcuts. To do this, disable unnecessary ones in the system settings in the "Keyboard" → "Keyboard shortcuts" → "Screenshots" section.
In addition to the usual screenshots of the screen, window and selected area, Shottr can take "long" shots, automatically starting scrolling of the content in the designated application. There is also a delay timer and a convenient function to re-capture a previously selected area in one click.
In terms of image processing, Shottr also has something to brag about. Access to all tools is carried out both from the panel at the top and using shortcuts. With one touch, you can copy the image and close the editing window, save a screenshot with a simple drag and drop, or upload to the cloud.
Annotation tools include arrows, lines, shapes, and text. Their appearance, size and color are easy to quickly customize. There's also a putty with which you can hide personal information in screenshots by simply highlighting the areas you want and choosing one of two options: pixelate or remove. In the latter case, even the background is restored, and no trace remains of the text.
In addition, Shottr has a lot of small but useful features. For example, the application window displays the size of the image, as well as the color code of the point over which the cursor is located. It is easy to copy by pressing Tab or clicking. By holding the arrow keys on the keyboard, a ruler is displayed that allows you to measure the distance in pixels between any elements or their sizes.
In the settings, you can select a background option, change the folder and format for saving screenshots, as well as downscaling Retina screenshots to normal resolution. You can assign the copy or save action to the Esc key, and then by pressing it after shooting, the application window will close without tiring additional dialogs.
The application is created with great attention to detail and leaves a pleasant impression. It is very fast and functional. Shottr is free, at least for now. Perhaps in the future, developers will add monetization and make advanced features paid. So hurry up!
