Dutch woman turns old granary into unique micro-house

The result was an unusual bunker, similar to a rocket, which can be rented to tourists.
Stella van Beers, a graduate of the Netherlands Academy of Design in Eindhoven built small and cozy housing from an old metal granary. This micro-house has two floors, where it was possible to place a living room and a bedroom.
The granary was sold by one of the local farmers. Stella wanted to buy it so she could try turning it into a living space. The owner of the structure, having learned about the girl's unusual idea, decided to give it away for free.
The vault reaches a height of 7 meters. It was cleaned and repainted, holes were made for doors and windows. A transparent hatch was added on top, allowing you to get out.
Despite the lack of available space, there are several storage rooms in the living room on the first floor, and a 2 × 1.2 meter bed has been placed on the second floor. A ladder is provided to move between levels.
The structure is definitely not intended for permanent habitation - it has no running water, electricity, or even proper insulation. However, it was built in accordance with Dutch "tourist hut" planning laws. This means that it can be used legally, rented out for short periods to anyone who wants it.
Looking to the future, Stella plans to use the experience she has gained to further develop microhouses based on granaries and other unusual objects.
