“Now I understand” podcast: myths about the severity of the war hammer and many hours of sword fights
Miscellaneous / / February 02, 2022
These stereotypes roam from film to film.
Hearing the phrase "war hammer", many imagine an incredibly heavy weapon, something like a sledgehammer or Thor's Mjolnir from The Avengers. This means that the warriors who handled such weapons were almost heroes. And these incredible strongmen, even with hammers, even with swords or axes, fought literally for an eternity - they delivered blows without stopping, which rivals repelled over and over again. Of course, these are all myths, and they are firmly entrenched in the mass consciousness, including thanks to cinema. How it was in reality, we tell in the latest issue of the podcast "Now it's clear."
