Thing of the day: YHE BP Doctor MED - smart watch with blood pressure cuff
Miscellaneous / / January 13, 2022
The first gadget of its kind that mimics the classic blood pressure monitor.
Hong Kong-based startup YHE has unveiled a smartwatch with a blood pressure measurement function. According to the developers, BP Doctor MED provides medically accurate readings - the error is only ± 5 mmHg.
Measuring blood pressure with a smart watch is easy. It is enough to place your hand at the level of the heart and press the "Start" button on the display. Using a special cuff, the sensors inside will determine the levels of systolic and diastolic pressure - the indicators will be immediately displayed on the screen.
An intelligent algorithm based on peak ripple is used to calculate the values. An additional algorithm automatically calibrates the sensors to get an accurate result.
The smart watch also monitors the pulse around the clock and notifies you of abnormal heart rhythms. This will help prevent overload in training and consult a doctor in a timely manner.
The watch faces on smartwatches are customizable. Widgets on the screen will help you keep track of the desired indicators.
The BP Doctor App is paired with BP Doctor MED. In it, you can see the activity indicators and medical data of the whole family, if they also use the gadget.
BP Doctor MED also has the usual functions of smart watches. The gadget tracks physical activity and sleep phases, shows reminders and messages, notifies you of incoming calls and starts an alarm.
BP Doctor MED supports English, Japanese, Spanish, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. The updates promise to expand this list.
Charging the smartwatch takes about 90 minutes. Energy is enough for up to 7 days - depending on the activity of use.
You can order watches on the crowdfunding platform indiegogo. With a discount, the gadget will cost $199 (≈15,000 rubles), later they promise to raise the price tag to $359 (≈27,000 rubles).
