He will be a real performance monster.
While Apple continues to migrate its line of computers to Apple Silicon processors, the company has yet to sever ties with Intel. MacRumors, citing industry sources, reports that Apple is preparing to release at least one more Mac with an Intel processor.
We are talking about one of the versions of the upcoming Mac Pro. Earlier it was reported that the computer will be available in two versions. The first will be the direct heir Mac Pro (2019) and will keep its design, but get updated hardware. The second version will be almost half the size, will be equipped with an Apple M-series processor and will receive a much more compact design in the style of the Power Mac G4 Cube.
It is reported that the Intel-version of the Mac Pro will receive Ice Lake Xeon W-3300 series server processors, sharpened for more powerful work with artificial intelligence.
This decision is associated with the fact that although most users are satisfied with emulation of incompatible applications through Rosetta 2, Apple wants finalize and improve the emulator before offering it to more demanding users using Mac for professional tasks.
The release of the updated Mac Pro is expected in 2022. Previously reportedthat the version with Apple Silicon can get a new M-series chip, made on a 3nm process technology with support for up to 40 cores.
