A shortlist of 10 nominations has been published on the Oscar's official website. They also included new blockbusters, including “The Matrix: Resurrection" and "Spider-Man: No Way Home».

Shortlisted for Best Foreign Language Film claimed Russian drama "Unclenching his fists", but the picture did not work. However, the film "Coupe No. 6" by the Finnish director Juho Kuosmanen, where one of the main roles was played by the Russian actor Yura Borisov, will compete for the victory.

Also the Russian cartoon "Boxballet" by Anton Dyakov hit shortlisted for the Best Animated Short Film nomination. The cartoon tells about the love story between a boxer and a ballerina.

Contenders for victory in other nominations will be announced in February 2022. The 94th Academy Awards ceremony itself will take place on March 27, 2022.
