Return YouTube Dislike will return the counter of dislikes in any browser
Miscellaneous / / December 20, 2021
A small free expansion does justice to it.
Since November 2021, YouTube has disabled the counter of dislikes for videos, arguing this with complaints from content authors and a desire to reduce the aggressive behavior of platform users. Although it is still possible to give a “Dislike” reaction to the video, only now the number of such ratings is not visible to anyone except the platform's algorithms and the video creators.
If you are not satisfied with this innovation, then the Return YouTube Dislike plugin will help you to fix the situation. Immediately after installing it, the coveted counter will appear next to the dislike button. In fact, there are no more functions and settings in the extension.
The data on the number of dislikes is calculated by the plugin's own algorithms, which is open source and published on GitHub.
In the case of new videos, the extension uses the rating statistics given by Return YouTube Dislike users to the video, and is based on the ratio of views to likes. For old content, dislikes saved earlier, when the official YouTube APIs were available, are additionally taken into account.
Depending on the popularity of the video, the data may not be very accurate, but it will still give a general idea of the number of negative ratings. You also need to understand that the counter is not updated instantly, but over a period of time.
Return YouTube Dislike is completely free and available as an extension for all popular browsers and custom script Tampermonkey.
