Lostfilm, Filmix and other sites with pirated content will disappear from Yandex's SERPs
Miscellaneous / / December 13, 2021
Films and TV series must be distributed in an exclusively legal way on official video resources.
As part of the updated version of the anti-piracy memorandum, Yandex will begin to remove from the search results sites on which more than 100 links with pirated content are found. The document will be signed by the end of 2021. About it write "Vedomosti".
Many repeat offender sites will fall under the deletion, which often avoid blocking and restrictions by regularly changing the domain name. These include Lostfilm, Kinogo, Filmix and lordfilm. Movies and TV series regularly appear on these resources without the permission of the copyright holders, and their pages are still displayed in search results.
It is proposed to extend the action of the new anti-piracy memorandum not only to audiovisual content, but also to other objects of intellectual property. The project can be joined by representatives of the book and music industry, who will also be able to initiate the removal of pirate sites from the issuance.
Representatives of Yandex note that this approach will allow working out new mechanisms to combat pirates for their subsequent implementation into legislation, and ultimately will lead to an increase in the popularity of official resources.
