The photographer showed the Sun in a resolution of 300 megapixels
Miscellaneous / / December 03, 2021
Photographer James McCarthy posted on Reddit and in your Instagram a breathtaking photo of the Sun. The original file has a resolution of 300 megapixels, which was achieved by combining 150 thousand photographs into one image. And this is not even all the materials: initially there were 300 thousand pictures, but he selected the most successful for the collage.
The author noted that this cannot be achieved with an ordinary telescope: the heat from the star will simply melt the photographic equipment. He used a modified telescope to look directly at the sun.
The original image is only available on James's Patreon, but the larger version (9,000 x 8,999 pixels) can be viewed here.
