The army of Sparta was a serious force in the ancient world, but it would be a stretch to call it invulnerable.
Before the start of the Greco-Persian wars, against the background of the armed forces of other policies, the Sparta army stood out only in number. At the same time, there is no data in the sources either about the special ferocity, or about the uniqueness of the military institutions of the Spartans, or about their military exploits. But in various historical documents you can find information that their cavalry, for example, was useless.
