Paint. NET will end support for Windows 7
Miscellaneous / / November 23, 2021
To access the new features, you will have to upgrade to a newer OS.
Rick Brewster, developer of the Paint service. NET, announced about the imminent end of support for Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and any 32-bit versions of systems. This popular Photoshop alternative will only offer new features to 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 users. The changes are related to the complexity of their support, given that these systems are not popular among users of the service.
The current version 4.3.3, already available for download, is the last major update to support older systems. The developer is now fully focused on working on version 4.4, which will only be released on Windows 10 and 11. For Paint. NET 4.3, only the necessary security updates will be released - and only until the 4.4 release.
Paint. NET is distributed free of charge through the official site, but there is also a paid version for the Microsoft Store - for those who want to support the development of the project.
