Scientists have identified the most beautiful cat breeds

The authors of the portal All About Cats have teamed up with biologists and mathematicians to select the most scientifically attractive cat breed. To do this, they turned to the golden ratio - the ratio of parts to a whole, which counts most attractive to the human eye.
Scientists have selected 46 of the most recognizable breeds and analyzed photos of their representatives from Shutterstock to measure the parameters of their faces. Next, we ran the length and width of the muzzle, the size of the nose and mouth, as well as the following distances through the golden ratio calculator:
- From the crown of the head to the pupils of the eyes;
- From the pupils to the tip of the nose;
- From the pupils to the corners of the mouth;
- From the tip of the nose to the chin;
- From mouth to chin;
- From the button of the nose to the mouth;
- Between the outer corners of the eyes.
After applying the formula, the ratio of proportions was obtained, which in the ideal case should be 1.62. In the first place were three breeds of cats at once - Norwegian Forest, Russian Blue and Manx. In all three cases, the deviation from the ideal result was only 0.03 points.
The most unsuccessful in terms of symmetrical attractiveness were the Himalayan cats, Peterbalds (they are also St. Petersburg Sphynxes) and Persian cats.
On research page it is noted that the owners obviously love their cats, regardless of how their muzzle looks, and the task of scientists was reduced to finding the most beautiful breed from the point of view of science.
