MediaTek Reveals Details About Wi-Fi 7 - The Latest Wireless Standard
Miscellaneous / / November 19, 2021
It will provide another increase in the data transfer rate and reduce the level of interference.
More recently, routers with support for Wi-Fi 6E began to enter the market, but manufacturers of microcircuits and modems are already actively working on the next generation of the standard. So, during the annual developer summit, MediaTek revealed some details about Wi-Fi 7 technology.
James Chen, MediaTek's vice president of product marketing, noted that Wi-Fi 7 will be 2.4 times faster than Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E, which are already incredibly fast on modern measurements.
But the increase in speed is only one of the future benefits of Wi-Fi 7. Chen explained that the new standard will significantly reduce signal latency, which will be appreciated by fans of online games, where every millisecond counts. At the same time, due to interference reduction technology, such a network will not interfere with your neighbor's Wi-Fi 7 networks.
MediaTek claims to be "one of the early adopters of Wi-Fi 7 technology" and will demonstrate this standard in action at CES 2022. True, all this does not mean that the new product will soon go to the masses. The Wi-Fi Alliance is now βat a very early stage in the Wi-Fi 7 standardization process,β added James Chen. According to preliminary data, at best, the deployment of technology
expected only in 2023.Read alsoπ§
