IPhone 14 may get a USB-C connector

Apple has already faced lawsuits due to its reluctance to transfer smartphones to the universal USB-C connector. and now it looks like the company is finally ready to move away from Lightning to the iPhone, as it has already done for some iPad. IDrop News Edition got from several sources, information that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will come with a USB-C connector.
The main reason for the transition is called ProRes mode in Pro models. It allows you to shoot raw video, which takes up a lot of space - and accordingly, data transfer via Lightning, which supports the outdated USB 2.0 standard, is not fast. For example, transferring 720GB 4K ProRes video from iPhone 13 Pro or Pro Max to PC takes approximately 3 hours 45 minutes. But transferring the same file from the 2021 iPad Pro, which received USB-C, takes only 2 minutes and 38 seconds.
Another incentive to switch to USB-C is the fine, which, according to the publication, threatens Apple in the United States and The European Union. It obliges all smartphone manufacturers to switch to a universal connector. To meet these requirements, by 2023, the iPhone without the Pro prefix will also be transferred to USB-C.
The third reason is concern for the environment. Apple has already removed chargers from boxes and removed the use of plastic wrap on them, and using a universal plug will help reduce the number of cables users need to charge your technique.
