7 cool train movies worth watching

The heroes of these pictures had to look for a psychopathic terrorist, fight off zombies and start a revolution.
1. Murder on the Orient Express

In 1934, the famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot boarded a train from Turkey to France. In the middle of the night, a passenger named Ratchett is killed. The detective has to find the culprit, while none of the suspects can hide because of the avalanche that blocked the path.
It is rather difficult to count how many times Agatha Christie's famous bestseller has been filmed. This time the story of an intriguing crime on a luxury train was taken by British actor and director Kenneth Branagh, who once played Professor Lokons from Harry Potter.
The problem is that anyone who is even a little interested in criminal fiction, in the know who the killer is, even if he doesn't really remember the details of the original source. But Branagh found a way to make the film interesting for the viewer: he assembled an all-star cast, as well as added action, humor and emotion. Finally, this is simply an insanely beautiful and aesthetic movie that is pleasant to watch, even if you know the denouement.

2. Ungovernable

The young and inexperienced Will Coulson is appointed as a partner to the experienced machinist Frank Barnes. On the very first day on the way, men come across a rapidly rushing train full of explosive chemicals. Despite the threat of dismissal, Frank decides to stop the runaway train and prevent the disaster at any cost.
Director Tony Scott, the late brother of the famed Ridley Scott, strove to make Unguided as little CGI as possible. Therefore, all the tricks were performed not in the pavilion against the background of a green screen, but in real conditions. But the film's greatest success, undoubtedly, was the flamboyant acting duo of Denzel Washington and Chris Pine.

4. Through the snow

In the near future, the Earth was completely frozen over after the cataclysm. Only those who managed to buy tickets for the train tycoon Wilford's express train, which moves in a circle, managed to escape. In the first carriages live the rich, and in the tail the beggars barely make ends meet. But 17 years later, the situation is heating up and is about to develop into a civil war.
Movie korean directed by Pona Joon-ho is based on the eponymous French comic strip, but is rather far from the original source. The film has intertwined many themes characteristic of this director, including the environmental agenda, as well as the problem of interclass contradictions and human cruelty.

5. Runaway Train

Criminals Manny and Buck escape from a maximum security prison in Alaska in the middle of winter and get on a train. Meanwhile, the driver is having a heart attack and the train is out of control. Now the fugitives, by all means, must stop the locomotive, which rushes without brakes.
The script for the second American film by Andrei Konchalovsky was written by Akira Kurosawa. Originally famous Japanese the director himself was going to stage the film, but when he arrived in the USA and began to choose a location for filming, it turned out that in the winter his film crew could not work because of the blizzards. In addition, he was having funding problems.
Then Kurosawa gave the script to American authors for rework, and Konchalovsky ended up in the director's chair. The latter managed to achieve a gloomy atmosphere of hopelessness, and until the very end it is not clear what the outcome will be.
6. Train to Darjeeling. Desperate Travelers

A year after their father's death, the three brothers meet on a train across India to the city of Darjeeling. This whole adventure was organized by the oldest of them, in order to restore the family in this way. But first, not the closest relatives will have to bring each other to white heat more than once and commit many strange things.
Wes Anderson filmed near perfect road-moviefull of Indian exoticism and subtle humor. He co-wrote the film script with Roman Coppola and Jason Schwartzman during their travels in India. It is along this route that the heroes of the picture travel.

The goal of the mission is to find the terrorist who blew up the carriage, and for this Stevens will be sent over and over again in the last eight minutes of the life of one of the passengers until the results appear.
Duncan Jones, the son of David Bowie, began his directorial career with the rather successful Luna 2112. His next work did not give way to the first and pleases with unpredictable plot twists, a clever story and elements melodramas.

The cynical workaholic Son Woo is taking her daughter to visit her mother in Busan. But at this moment, an epidemic of a mysterious virus hits the country. The hero, along with his daughter, is trapped in a train, inside which people, one after another, turn into very fast and dangerous zombies.
The film, directed by Yong Sang-ho, made audiences fall in love with him at the Cannes Film Festival and was a great success around the world. The whole secret is in the bizarre combination of a chamber zombie thriller with actionas well as a powerful social connotation.
