Miscellaneous / / November 12, 2021
Now everyone will have to upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11.
In January 2020, Microsoft stopped Free Windows 7 support, but continued to release critical fixes through the Extended Security Update (ESU) program. It is usually used by companies that still use the system and for some reason cannot refuse it. However, this program also has its own term, and now it has become knownwhen it expires - January 10, 2023.
Windows 7 will soon enter the third and final year of the ESU program, after which Microsoft will ditch the operating system once and for all. The system will lose all support, so all companies using it will have to upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11.
The only exception can be server solutions. For Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2008 SP2, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, if they are running in Microsoft Azure ESU will have one additional year of extended support ending January 9 2024 year.
