Miscellaneous / / November 12, 2021
You can visit the sanctuary both from a PC and from a smartphone.
Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports with the support of Microsoft launched a project called Ancient Olympia: A Common Place. It is an online resource that allows you to explore a virtual copy of Ancient Olympia and see what it was like over 2,000 years ago.
The project digitally recreates 27 monuments, including the stadium, the temples of Zeus and Hera, Phidias' workshop and many other structures. Any visitor to such a virtual museum can walk along the streets of the sanctuary, see the objects from the inside and read their descriptions (Russian language is present).
You can take a digital journey through historic Olympia using a computer by opening a special site, or your phone - using free Android and iOS apps.
