It is already known who will work on the project.
How informs Deadline, an adaptation of Dan Simmons' science fiction novel Hyperion, which in 2015 was conceived as miniseries SyFy, finally got off the ground, but already in the format of a full-length film under the wing of Warner Bros.
The project will continue to be produced by Bradley Cooper (Joker, Areas of Darkness) and Graham King (Bohemian Rhapsody, The Departed). They will also be joined by Weston Middleton (A Star Is Born) as part of a new production company co-founded with Cooper (so far unnamed).
The film already has a scriptwriter - Tom Speziali ("Ash vs. Evil Dead", "Left Behind"), the director has not yet been chosen - just like the leading actors. In addition, it is not yet known what part of the "Song of Hyperion" tetralogy the film adaptation will cover.
The original novel is set in the 29th century. After the catastrophe known as the Big Error, the Earth was destroyed, and people moved to other planets. But even with the advancement of technology, they are not able to withstand the Space Rogues. To save humanity, seven pilgrims go to the planet Hyperion. In 1990, the novel won the prestigious Hugo Literary Prize.
