Make sausage stew for lunch. The taste and aroma of this simple yet beloved homemade dish will surely bring you back to childhood.
Chop the cabbage thinly. Peel and grate the carrots.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet. Fry the carrots until tender, 4-5 minutes.
Add the cabbage, stir, cover the pan and cook the vegetables for 15 minutes.
Pour in boiling water and simmer for another 30 minutes.
Add tomato paste, allspice and black pepper and bay leaf to the cabbage. Stir and cook over low heat for 7 minutes.
Cut the sausages into slices and place in the pan. Season with salt and stir.
Simmer for another 5 minutes. Sprinkle chopped dill over the cabbage, if desired.
