Lie to me: 7 most common sign of cheating
Tips / / December 19, 2019
It is no secret that adults who speak the truth are much less likely than children. More precisely, they are not to lie, just keep back a lot. And if the words we can say anything, our body gives us non-verbally from head to toe. Therefore it is very important to not only listen to what the man says, but also to see it. This is especially true of work and important business meetings.
There is a wonderful book by Alan and Barbara Pease, "The new body language", based on which I want to do a number of positions. Since there is written a lot of interesting and fit everything into one post I can not qualitatively. Re-read it several times and I can confirm that it really helps.
To enter to this topic, I decided to stay at the 8 basic gestures of deception.
1. Covering the mouth. Remember the three monkeys? See No Evil, Hear No Evil, do not say anything. One sign of deception is covering the mouth. In children, it is expressed more clearly - small children can tell a lie and immediately cover his mouth the whole palm. The older the child becomes, the less clear it becomes that gesture (we just learned how to lie more elaborate). In adults, this gesture may be in the form of covering the mouth with his fist or more fingers (cough imitation also happens quite often). This gesture does not necessarily mean fraud, sometimes so interlocutor is trying to hide something from you (probably their true point of view).
2. Touching the nose. Remember the tale of Pinocchio, where his nose began to grow rapidly, as he was lying? Actually physically process really takes place - in the body are allocated specific substances katelohaminy that lead to irritation of the nasal mucosa, as pressure increases, increased blood flow and nose indeed slightly increases. But it is not noticeable, but much like the other person begins to reach for his nose and scratch herself. Or simply it will periodically touch the tip of the nose. It may also mean that a person you do not trust completely. But this gesture should be read in context with other gestures. Suddenly your companion just a cold?
3. Rubbing the eye. When a child does not want something to look, he closes his eyes palms. In the adult, this gesture is transformed into rubbing his eyes. Thus, the brain attempts to block something unpleasant for us (deceit, doubt or unpleasant sight). In men, it is more pronounced gesture - they rub their eyes, if they got a mote in the eye. In women, this gesture is less noticeable and may well pass as amended by the make-up, as the ladies are usually rubbing gently with a finger the lower eyelid. But here it is necessary to be careful - and suddenly got really mote or cilium!
There is also a fairly common gesture "Lying through his teeth," which is accompanied by a whole chain of gestures: clenching teeth, fake smile and rubbing his eyes.
4. Rubbing the ear lobe. Let us return to our monkeys! This gesture of "I do not hear anything." Usually it is accompanied by a glance to the side. Variants of this gesture: rubbing lobes, scratching the neck behind the ear, picking (forgive me) in the ear or twisting it into a tube (and this happens - I saw it myself). When a person rubs his earlobe - which means that he has already heard enough and wants you to say something (if reading this subsection I immediately remembered my teachers on the protection of the diploma, when they wanted to ask questions).
5. Scratching his neck. As a rule, people do it the index finger of the hand they write. The average person scratching his neck 5 times a day. This gesture is in doubt. That is, if you are a person says something like, "Yes! I totally agree with you, "and at the same time extends to scratch your neck, this means that in fact he does not agree, and doubts.
6. pulling the collar. A familiar gesture, right? As if it becomes stuffy and a man breathing heavily. Cheating leads to increased pressure and sweating, especially if a liar is afraid of being caught in a lie. The same gesture can be associated with anger or depression, and the man pulls the gate to cool slightly. Authors are advised to try to ask to repeat or explain to this man once said. Maybe the second time he will tell you the truth.
7. Fingers in the mouth. The most striking character with his finger in the mouth, it is Dr. Evil from the film Austin Powers. He almost always keeps his little finger near the mouth. It is an unconscious attempt to return to the human security of the state, which is usually associated with infancy and sucking the same nipple. Adult man sucking a cigar, pipe, the temples, a pen or chewing gum. Most touch to the mouth are associated with fraud, but it also says more about the fact that a person needs approval. Maybe he's lying because he's afraid that the truth is you do not like.
I want to remind you that these gestures must be considered in the context of the environment and the human condition (runny nose, cough, and indeed the mote in my eye, etc.). There are lots of interesting gestures and ligaments, which we can recognize the true intention of the interlocutor or ourselves can positively affect the outcome of the case (a position gestures). Skeptics may say that a few gestures have been tried by me and my friends - they really work. The main thing that they are not at variance with your true intentions, but only emphasizes them. At least in order to make a good first impression.
So watch the people around closely and you will see many interesting things.
