Why watch trash movies? Discussing B films in the Watchtower podcast
Miscellaneous / / October 27, 2021
This is a completely different side of cinema.
There are so many high-quality films and TV series that no high-budget filming and special effects are capable of evoking emotions. The brain needs a break. And here films of category “B” come to the rescue - the same ones shot for three kopecks on a cheap camera, often even without a tripod, with non-professional actors in the frame. The components sometimes change slightly, but the essence remains the same, so such creativity is unlikely to ever be seriously interested in the mass audience.
In this issue, the presenters of the "Watchman" try to understand what is so attractive about the "movie trash" and why people need it. watching and talking about the history of B-movies and the 1960s grindhouse and again reminiscing about Asylum.
