The next MacBook Air will receive a new design, MagSafe and "bangs"

Collected everything that is known about the new ultra-thin Apple laptop.
Over the past few days, a lot of rumors about the upcoming MacBook Air, scheduled for early 2022. Insiders agree that the laptop will follow in the footsteps new Pro models - it will receive a fresh design and a very powerful filling. We chose the most important of the actual leaks.
Screen
Like the MacBook Pro, the new Air will feature a miniLED panel that expands the color gamut, will increase contrast, brightness and dynamic range, and provide more accurate shades black.
And yes, there will be a "bang" too - for the camera and the light sensor. Its presence confirms the same insider who previously wrote about the screen cutout in the MacBook Pro.
Design
For the first time since 2010, the laptop will receive a case of a new shape. Apple will ditch the current tapered design in favor of greater uniformity - the body will have the same thickness around the perimeter, and the overall design will become more rounded.
Also, the new MacBook Air will come in a variety of colors similar to the current one.
24-inch iMac. However, the introduction of a colored chassis can create problems for the bangs. After all, if Apple goes the color candy bar, it will likely entail white display bezels and a white notch that can no longer be hidden by the dark mode of the interface.Another source wrote that the introduction of new bezels with minimal bezels would make the laptop noticeably smaller, thinner and lighter. Apple even considered a 15-inch Air, which would be one of the most mobile in terms of size. However, while the company is preparing only a 13-inch novelty.
Connectors
A wide range of ports will remain the prerogative of Pro versions of laptops, which is quite logical, but the new Air will still receive MagSafe magnetic charging. It complements a modest pair of Thunderbolt / USB ports.
The new connector is likely to provide the accelerated powering that most ultrabooks have today.
Filling
MacBook Pro uses very powerful M1 Pro and M1 Max chips that target professional software with time-consuming tasks, especially graphics. The new Air model, positioned as a lower-end solution, will have a different chip, the M2.
It will have the same number of powerful and energy efficient cores as the M1, but it will be noticeably faster. The number of graphics cores will increase from 7/8 to 9/10. In other words, Apple will increase the processing power of the MacBook Air, but in terms of graphics performance it will still be inferior to the MacBook Pro.
Release dates
Initially, insiders wrote about a possible Air release even at the end of 2021. But after the presentation of the MacBook Pro, another imminent announcement with a new laptop looks extremely dubious. The predictions about the beginning or the middle of 2022 sound much more plausible. For example, the new Air may well be shown in the spring, along with new iPhone SE, which should also appear sometime early next year.
