Windows 11 can now run Android apps, but not all
Miscellaneous / / October 21, 2021
On October 20, Windows 11 Insiders on Beta became available the ability to install and run Android applications. You can find them in the Microsoft Store, which has description pages and download links from the Amazon Appstore. So far, you can download about 50 games and programs.
Together with applications, the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) subsystem is installed in the background, through which the launch is implemented. With this framework, Android applications can run side-by-side with Windows software products. They can be moved around within the workspace, pinned to the Start menu or taskbar, and used in multitasking mode.
TheVerge Editor notesthat while the function does not work perfectly. He noticed 100 percent CPU usage and severe system lag when he tried to run Four Android games simultaneously using Snap Layouts in Windows 11 on a Core i9 gaming PC 11900K.
He also writes that the Android game Final Fantasy XV he tested reloads if the window is resized. Some apps and games do not respond very well to this action, which indicates a lack of optimization. However, so far this is all just testing Windows Subsystem for Android, so bugs, errors and shortcomings will appear.
So far, only Windows 11 users who have chosen the United States as their home region can try mobile apps.
