On October 18th, Apple will be holding its second fall presentation at which the new MacBook Pro models are to be unveiled. All insiders unanimously claimed that the laptops will be equipped with a fresh ARM chipset, which will be an updated version of the M1. Judging by the fresh data, there can be two processors at once, and they will be called M1 Pro and M1 Max.
This was reported by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, citing data from one of the developers who noticed these chip names in application logs. However, he is not sure that this is the final commercial naming, because it could potentially confuse the buyer.
The Apple M1 Pro is expected to ship with a 16-core GPU while as a higher-end chipset model called M1 Max will get a 32-core graphics CPU. None of the chips will be positioned as the second generation of the branded M1. debuted in MacBook Air and Pro in 2020. Rather, it will be the S-version of the chip, that is, an upgrade.
A full second generation, the Apple M2, will be unveiled in early 2022 when the company announces an all-new MacBook Air with fresh design.
As for the upcoming new products, MacBook Pro, according to rumors, they may differ not only with a new chip, but also with a redesigned case, an expanded set of sweats and displays with "Bangs" like the iPhone.
