Oven baked turkey meatballs

Plain turkey meatballs baked in the oven with cheese and tomato sauce are tender and surprisingly delicious.

Ingredients
- Turkey thigh fillet 450-500 g
- Garlic 4 cloves
- Thyme several branches
- Egg 1 piece
- Breadcrumbs 100 g
- Salt to taste
- Ground black pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil 3-4 tbsp. spoons + for lubrication
- Tomato juice or sauce 450 ml
- Cheese 100-150 g
- Greens to taste
Cooking method
Grind the turkey fillet in a meat grinder. Pass the garlic through a press, finely chop the thyme.
Combine the minced meat with egg, breadcrumbs, half garlic, salt and pepper. Form small balls.
Heat half the oil in a skillet. Lightly fry the meatballs for 5 minutes and place in a greased pan.
Heat the remaining oil. Fry the thyme and garlic for 30-60 seconds, add tomato juice or sauce and bring to a boil. Season with salt and remove from heat.

Pour the tomato sauce over the turkey balls and place in an oven preheated to 180 ° C for 20-25 minutes.
The larger you make the meatballs, the longer they will bake.
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Sprinkle on the meatballs and place in the oven for another 5 minutes.
Sprinkle with herbs before serving.
