Improvements in all four models.
At presentations, Apple traditionally does not disclose the battery capacity of technology. So this year at presentations iPhone 13 the company only reported how much the autonomy of new products has grown compared to previous generations, but did not disclose the exact characteristics.
In particular, we were told that the iPhone 13 mini and 13 Pro will last 1.5 hours longer than their predecessors, while in the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro Max the autonomy has increased by as much as 2.5 hours. But the data that Apple provided American Chemical Transport Center (Chemtrec), more accurate. Here's what the battery capacity of new smartphones actually is:
- Apple iPhone 13 mini: 9.57 Wh (11% more than 8.57 Wh in iPhone 12 mini)
- Apple iPhone 13: 12.41 Wh (15% more than 10.78 Wh in iPhone 12)
- iPhone 13 Pro: 11.97 Wh (11% more than 10.78 Wh in of iPhone 12 Pro)
- iPhone 13 Pro Max: 16.75 Wh (18% more than 14.13 Wh in iPhone 12 Pro Max)
Given the already known battery capacity of the iPhone 12, this can be converted into more familiar mAh:
- iPhone 13 mini: ≈2,500 mAh
- iPhone 13: ≈3,266 mAh
- iPhone 13 Pro: ≈3,150 mAh
- iPhone 13 Pro Max: ≈4 400 mAh
The documents also indicate that the iPhone 13 and 13 mini use standard rectangular batteries, while the Pro versions contain L-shaped batteries.
