10. Cannibal hell

Cannibals Hell is considered one of the first films partially shot in the genre of found film. But far more scandals were caused by the incredible brutality shown in the film. For example, the animals that the natives ate were killed for real. Because of this, the painting was initially banned in more than 50 countries. But this also later made Cannibals Hell cult.

Spouses Paul and Mary Bland are looking for an opportunity to earn money. By chance, they come up with a creepy but profitable scheme. The heroes lure swingers to their homes, kill and rob them. Soon, another partner joins the couple - Raul, who sells the meat of the victims.
Low budget comedy spoiler its ending right in the headline. But this does not spoil the perception of the plot at all: the film is filled with black humor and satire. And the performers of the main roles Paul Bartel and Mary Voronov later even flashed in the same characters in the film "Killer Robots".

Vegetarian Justine enters veterinary college. Together with other newcomers, she goes through a rite of passage, eating raw rabbit kidneys. From this point on, Justine becomes obsessed with meat. Her desires grow, and the girl begins to break into cannibalism.
Of course, the actress was not forced to eat raw meat on set, so some of the props were made from sugar. But it turned out very believable: there are rumors that at the premieres the audience felt sick, and someone even fainted. But most critics praised the tough horror, and the debutant director Julia Ducourneau became famous among fans of auteur cinema. Her next film, Titan, took the top prize at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.

The worst thing about the film directed by Frank Marshall is her real basis. On October 13, 1972, a plane crashed in the Andes, and the plot of the film "Survive" is based on the memories of the real participants in the tragic events. Nando Parrado, played by Ethan Hawke, became a consultant on the set.

The film is based on the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris, the first book about Lecter. Later, another adaptation with Anthony Hopkins will be shot on it, and it will also form the basis of the final season of the series "Hannibal". Against their background, "Human Hunter" has been forgotten, but this picture deserves attention. Dr. Lecter is played by Brian Cox and directed by Michael Mann. The latter knows how to perfectly work out the characters and relationships of the characters.

One of the most famous slashers over time has grown into a huge franchise. The story was restarted several times and prequels were invented for it, but the first part remained unsurpassed. And most interestingly, the maniac nicknamed Leather Face, who appears in the film, has a real prototype. This is the killer and necrophiliac Ed Gin.

Somewhere in post-apocalyptic In the world there is a house on the ground floor of which the owner opened a butcher's shop. Due to lack of food, food has become the main currency. To provide visitors with fresh meat, the owner lures new tenants, kills and butcher them. But one day a clown moves into the building and falls in love with the butcher's daughter.
This film was directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet - the future author of the legendary "Amelie". The picture clearly shows his typical approach to shooting. The action consists of almost theatrical numbers, which together create an ironic phantasmagoria that combines cruelty and humor.

Of course, the most famous cannibal in cinema is Dr. Lecter performed by Anthony Hopkins. The actor perfectly got used to the image of a simultaneously charming and frightening maniac and returned to him twice more: in the sequel to "Hannibal" and the prequel to "Red Dragon".
