He also knows how to shoot 8K videos.
Samsung has officially announced the new ISOCELL HP1 200MP mobile camera. The 0.64-micron pixels support a 16-in-1 collation that the manufacturer calls ChameleonCell, which is the equivalent of a 12.5-megapixel camera with 2.56-micron pixels.
The pixel bunch is proposed to be used for night mode, while the HP1 allows you to save images in a resolution of 200 megapixels, and in a bundle of 4-in-1, to get less "heavy" 50 megapixel images.
Thanks to 4-in-1 binning, the camera is also capable of shooting 8K video without cropping, which raises questions since the standard 8K (7,680 x 4,320 pixels) is less than 50 MP.
At the same time, they showed a sensor called ISOCELL GN5. Its resolution is "only" 50 megapixels, but the pixel size is larger: 1 micron. It is the first 1μm sensor to feature Dual Pixel Pro technology for ultra-fast focusing. It looks like the new product will be a more compact replacement for ISOCELL GN2, which is used in Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra.
Samsung hasn't disclosed when the mass production of these two sensors will begin, but samples are already available for smartphone manufacturers - so probably already in 2022 we will see the flagship Xiaomi with a camera for 200 Mp.
