Ingredients
- Plums 1 700 g
- Sugar 700-800 g
- Walnuts 200 g
- Citric acid 5 g
Cooking method
Rinse the plums, dry them, cut them into halves and remove the seeds.
Place a third of the fruit in a saucepan and sprinkle with sugar. Repeat the layers two more times.
Cover the pan with cheesecloth or a lid and leave at room temperature overnight.
-
Place the saucepan on the stove, gently stir the contents, bring to a boil and remove from heat. Leave it again for a day.
If you want the halves of the fruit to retain their shape, do not stir the jam after boiling, but just shake the pan gently.
Return the jam to the stove, bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 1-2 minutes. Leave the jam for another day.
Boil the plums for the third time 5 minutes after boiling. Add the citric acid nuts and cook the same amount.
-
Pour the jam into sterilized jars, close the lids, turn over and wrap. Store cool after cooling.
