Streamers will be compensated if the new prices affect their income.
Twitch streaming service announced on reducing the cost of paid subscriptions for European users from 5 August. This also affected Russia, the minimum subscription price decreased threefold - from 399 to 130 rubles per month. The changes have already taken effect.
If you subscribe for three months at once, then its price will become even lower - 117 rubles per month, and if for six months - 110 rubles. The cost of the second tier subscription has also decreased - from 799 to 260 rubles, and the third - from 1999 to 650 rubles.
These changes will make it easier for creators around the world to expand their communities, and viewers will be more active in supporting streamers by gaining access to benefits such as ad-free browsing, exclusive channel emoticons, subscriber badges, channel point multipliers, and a separate chat for communication.
To prevent price cuts from hitting the streamers themselves, Twitch will pay 100% of lost subscription revenue, if any, for the first three months. Further, the service will gradually reduce the percentage of compensation payments - by 25% every 3 months for the next 9 months. Thus, the compensation program is designed for 12 months.
