Ingredients
- Gooseberry 1 kg
- Cherry leaves 20-25 pieces
- Water 650 ml
- Sugar 1 kg
Cooking method
Sort the berries, remove the tails and stalks, rinse, dry and make punctures on each berry with a toothpick. Rinse the cherry leaves well.
Set aside a few leaves. Pour the rest with water, bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
Place the gooseberries in a pot of leaves and shake gently several times. Leave on for 6-8 hours at room temperature.
Remove the leaves from the pan. Transfer the berries to a bowl and mix the remaining liquid with the sugar.
Place the sugar and liquid on the stove and bring to a boil over low heat. Stir to dissolve the crystals.
Place the gooseberries in a saucepan and boil for 5 minutes after boiling. Remove from heat and leave for 5-6 hours. Repeat 2 more times.
