The Simpsons Predicted Richard Branson's Space Flight
Miscellaneous / / August 01, 2021
Confirmation was found in one of the old series.
In the animated series "The Simpsons" found another prediction, which came true just the other day. It's about flight into space by Richard Branson on July 11. Just after the landing of his ship, Virgin Galactic showed video, demonstrating weightlessness inside VSS Unity at the moment of reaching maximum altitude.
Twitter user Aditya Kondawar (@aditya_kondawar) remembered a similar scene from The Simpsons.
How does The Simpsons predict everything, damn it?
In the comments and on siteswho picked up the news, write that this is a frame from the 8th episode of season 20 ("The Burns and the Bees", 2008). Branson was in that episode, but the frame with zero gravity and the spaceship is still from another episode - 15th in season 25 ("The War of Art", 2014). Branson appears there for a second, admiring the fake painting aboard the spacecraft.
Netizens on this basis again began to joke about the time machine, which Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons, is probably using.
Matt Groening is a time traveler.
Time Machine.
The creator of The Simpsons is the real Nostradamus.
Virgin Galactic itself also appreciated the publication, retweeting This is an image posted by one of the company's Twitter accounts.
The Simpsons predicted it.
Since the series was released in 2014, and Virgin Galactic at that time was already conducting tests of the ship in full SpaceShipTwo, in this case, the writers of The Simpsons, rather, simply foresaw the success of Richard's company Branson. By that time, it was already known what the ship might look like and what the purpose of the whole project was.
The billionaire himself appeared in the popular American cartoon several times. He can be seen playing himself in at least two more episodes: "Loan-a Lisa" (2 episode 22 season, 2010) and "The Princess Guide" (15 episode 26 season, 2015).
This is far from the first accurate prediction of The Simpsons. In episodes of the series there is still at least a dozen other eventsthat came true in real life many years later.
