- Large lemon 1 piece
- Fresh thyme 4 sprigs
- Cream with a fat content of at least 33% 200 ml
- Vegetable or chicken broth 200 ml
- Ground nutmeg ¹⁄₂ tsp spoons
- Salt to taste
- Ground black pepper to taste
- Butter 25 g
- Cheese to taste
Cooking method
Peel and cut the potatoes into thin slices.
Grate the lemon zest without touching the white part of the fruit. Remove the leaves from the thyme.
Pour the cream and broth into a large saucepan. Add zest, thyme leaves, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
-
Bring to a light boil. Place the potatoes in a saucepan, stir and cook for about 8 minutes, until the vegetables begin to soften.
Stir occasionally to keep the potatoes from sticking to the bottom.
Lightly oil a baking dish. Put the potatoes and all the sauce there, flatten. Spread the pieces of the remaining butter on top.
Cover the tin with foil. Place in an oven preheated to 180 ° C for 30 minutes.
-
Remove the foil and bake for another 30-40 minutes until the potatoes are tender and golden brown.
10-15 minutes before the end of cooking, you can lightly sprinkle the gratin with cheese.
Let the food stand for 15 minutes before serving.
