Miscellaneous / / July 31, 2021
Both offer 4K resolution and are available in three sizes.
Xiaomi held a presentation in China, showing a pair of new smart TVs. They run on the MIUI for TV platform and support voice control - albeit only in Chinese via XiaoAI.
Mi TV 6 Extreme Edition
The main feature of this model was the adjustment of colors according to the standards of the film industry. The LCD panel is from 55 to 75 inches in 4K resolution and supports 120Hz refresh rate. Local dimming is supported: the younger 55 "model has more than 100 dimming zones, the 65" has 224, and the top 75 "model has 255. There is support for Dolby Vision HDR technology.
It uses an improved version of the flagship MediaTek MT9950 processor, supplemented by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. The newest 100-watt audio system is responsible for the sound - it is used for the first time in the brand's TVs. Supported by IMAX Enhanced audio technology, the screen and speakers are also adapted for use in games - including thanks to AMD Freesync Premium.
Above is a dual webcam with a resolution of 48 megapixels, which allows you to use the TV for video calls. Intelligent functions are declared, but details are not disclosed (probably, we are talking about intelligent background blur). The device supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.
Mi TV ES 2022
This is a simplified model that retains the dimensions and resolution of the Mi TV 6 Extreme Edition. Local dimming is preserved, but the zones are already 32, 45 and 60 for the 55 ”, 65” and 75 ”models respectively, the peak brightness is 700 nits. It uses a less powerful, but also flagship MediaTek MT9638 processor, supplemented by 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory.
The TV will receive a stereo system of four 12.5 W speakers, which operate in two-channel mode. Support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 has been preserved, but there is no webcam in this model.
