How many types of notifications on your Mac, you know? Banners and badges from Notification Center, galloping icons in the Dock, a beeping sound. Who is bigger?
Did you know that in OS X provides another interesting way of notification - via the screen flash?
This feature can be useful in three cases: if you do not want to miss important alerts and the flash is activated simultaneously with the audio signal, if you want to get notification without sound (so as not to wake the sleeping family), or if you work for multiple Macs and want to understand what it is computer notification. Initially, this type of alert is designed, of course, for people with disabilities.
Adjust the screen flash as notification is much easier than to describe it looks like this outbreak. It is better to see once, than hundred times to read.
- Open the "System Preferences"
- Select "Universal Access"
- In the left column select "Sound"
- Tick "Flash the screen when an alert"
In the last paragraph, you can also test the flash and learn how it looks.
