Cultural program
The Lefortovo area (formerly Lefortovo Sloboda) appeared on the map of Moscow at the end of the 17th century. Nobles and members of the imperial family settled here. Several estates of the tsarist era have survived to this day, including the Stroganov dacha on the Yauza and the Catherine (Golovinsky) palace. Perhaps the most famous landmark of the area is Lefortovo Park, which was arranged by order of Peter I in the first half of the 18th century, which is also called Versailles on the Yauza.
There are also older buildings in Lefortovo, for example the Spaso-Andronikov Monastery - it was built in the XIV century. Now the monastery houses the Andrei Rublev Central Museum of Old Russian Culture and Art. You can walk around historical sites on your own or with a guide.
Another find for connoisseurs of culture is the "Motors of October" car museum. It contains a large collection of vintage cars, including the 1908 Buick, Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8 and the Seagull.
