From Zeniba's kitchen in Spirited Away to Cat's Office in Return of the Cat.
If you've ever watched Studio Ghibli films, then you know how magical and cozy Japanese animation can be. In Hayao Miyazaki's works, even the creepiest places sometimes seem warm and very homely. Surely many would like to visit the same places as the heroes of his cartoons.
The designers from Householdquotes decided to make Ghibli's unique picture a little closer and more realistic by recreating some of the interiors of her films in graphic editors. The authors are confident that such visualization will help someone rethink the design of their room or even the entire apartment.
1. Arrietti's Bedroom (Arietti from the Land of the Lilliputians, 2010)
This room is the perfect source of inspiration for a personal space like a bedroom or study, especially if you're on the lookout for vintage items and oversized houseplants.
2. Zeniba's Kitchen (Spirited Away, 2001)
The open brickwork and floorboards with a pronounced wood grain make this kitchen unique. Rows of shelves with mismatched crockery add charm and personality to the hostess, while a low-hanging lamp creates an intimate atmosphere.
3. Howl's Bathroom (Howl's Moving Castle, 2004)
Howl's bathroom is both his personal space and his "portrait of Dorian Gray." Vintage copper pipes and taps reflect the film's steampunk mechanics, but explosive hair dye stains show that the character's meticulously groomed appearance is just a mask.
4. Anna's Bedroom (Memories of Marnie, 2014)
The paper lamp in this room is reminiscent of the famous Akari light sculptures by designer Isamu Noguchi. Combined with a canopy and sheer curtains, it creates a feeling of lightness and freshness, which is perfectly complemented by soothing green and woody tones in the interior.
5. Cat's Office ("The Return of the Cat", 2002)
This Office looks more like a miniature hall than a workplace. Piles of cloth-bound books and neoclassical colors maintain a sense of order. The symmetry of the room is accentuated by a hyper-realistic brilliance that would be the envy of himself. Wes Anderson.
