Acceleration to 96.5 km / h in less than 2 seconds and a top speed of 320 km / h.
Tesla is officially presented its new electric Model S Plaid, announced in January. The presentation was led by Elon Musk, according to whom this car is faster than any sports car, faster than any Porsche and at the same time safer than any Volvo.
The Model S Plaid has become not only the company's fastest electric car, but also the fastest mass-produced car. It takes less than 2 seconds to accelerate to 96.5 km / h, and the top speed exceeds 320 km / h. Without recharging, the car is capable of driving more than 620 km.
When asked why a city car needs such speeds, Musk replied:
“We have to show that the electric car is the best choice. It should be clear that clean energy cars can be the fastest, safest and coolest cars in every way. "
The exterior design has remained virtually unchanged - it's still the same Model S, albeit now with an even lower drag coefficient (0.208). Significant changes have been made to the interior - there is a new digital instrument panel behind the wheel, 17-inch horizontal touchscreen, optional display for rear passengers, wireless chargers for smartphones and Not only.
The cost of the Model S Plaid was about $ 130,000 (≈9,350,000 rubles). The first 25 Model S Plaid vehicles are on their way to customers. Several hundred more of these machines are planned to be delivered within a week.
