2022 iPads May Go OLED

First of all, this concerns the iPad Air, but it is possible that even the basic iPad will be updated.
Korean edition of ETNews writesthat after the debut of mini LED technology in the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro Apple is planning to migrate some LCD iPad models to OLED panels.
According to sources, tablets with new displays are expected as early as next year, when "the OLED market of small and medium size will enter the second phase of growth." Probably, such matrices will be supplied by Samsung and LG, which have been cooperating with Apple for a long time in this direction.
Rumors about equipping some iPad models with OLED screens have already appeared on the web earlier. So, DigiTimes wrote about this back in March. Back then, the iPad Air was mentioned as the first tablet to switch from an LCD panel to an organic one. Perhaps, the base iPad and iPad mini will also be updated.
By words analysts, Apple has no plans to introduce OLED into its most productive tablets - they chose mini-LED for the flagships. The main reason lies in the problem of burnout of organic diodes, which reminds of itself if you work for hours on end with the same software. And top-end iPads are usually used to work with professional software - graphic editors, editing software, and so on.
Another reason to use OLED instead of mini LED is cost. Unlike the iPhones, which Apple uses a special OLED panel that bends at the bottom, the iPad uses simple flat panels. This means that the cost of such screens will be close to what Apple currently pays for each LCD panel used in the iPad Air.
