The flagships ASUS ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip declassified before the announcement

ASUS recently announced the launch of its new flagship ZenFone 8 smartphones. The event should take place only in a week, but on the Web already appeared renders and characteristics of upcoming devices.

For the first time in several years, ASUS will release two versions of the flagship, one of which will receive a traditional flip camera, and the other will have a more classic look. The model names are appropriate: ZenFone 8 Flip and simply ZenFone 8.

ZenFone 8 Flip will look very similar to ZenFone 7. It has the same design and a visually identical photomodule with three cameras that can be used for main and front shooting.

ASUS ZenFone 8 Flip specifications:

• 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels, HDR support and a refresh rate of 90 Hz;
• eight-core Snapdragon 888 with Adreno 660 graphics;
• 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage and microSD card support up to 2TB;
• camera with 64 megapixel sensors (Sony IMX686), 12 megapixel (macro, Sony IMX363) and 8 megapixel (telephoto) with support for 8K video;

• 5G SA / NSA support, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC;
• 5000 mAh battery with 30 W charging via USB Type-C.

The base ASUS ZenFone 8 will have a more compact form factor, dual main cameras, a separate selfie module in the screen and a less capacious battery.

• 5.92-inch AMOLED screen with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution and HDR support;
• eight-core Snapdragon 888 with Adreno 660 graphics;
• 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, 128GB UFS 3.1 internal storage and microSD card support up to 2TB:
• main camera with 64 megapixel sensors (Sony IMX686) and 12 megapixel (macro) with support for 8K video (front resolution unknown);
• 5G SA / NSA support, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC;
• 4000 mAh battery with 30 W charging via USB Type-C.
