Minnumbers: pre-installed Russian applications on smartphones should be removable

Minnumbers prepared draft amendments to the government decree on the pre-installation of domestic applications on smartphones, tablets, computers and TVs with the Smart-TV function. According to them, all device manufacturers will have to provide the ability to remove preinstalled programs.

The project also says that vendors will be able to charge developers of mandatory domestic applications for installation of their services on "more favorable terms" than the software of the manufacturer itself or the owner of the operating room systems.

The document on the change in the supply was sent for approval to the FAS, the Ministry of Economy, Rospotrebnadzor and specialized associations. Its approval or revision will be announced separately.

Recall that the requirement to pre-install applications applies to devices released in Russia after April 1. By law, manufacturers are required to install on them 16 classes of programs.
