Android 12 will learn to temporarily unload apps

This will help save space on your smartphone or tablet.
In the build of Android 12 for developers, we discovered a new interesting feature: the ability to free up space at the expense of unused applications. About it reported in the new XDA Developers report.
So, in the settings in the "Applications" section, a new item "Unused applications" has appeared. Everything that you have not opened for more than three months is displayed here, with the possibility of quick removal if you no longer need these programs. You can also configure automatic hibernation of unused applications.
This means that after 3 months of non-use of permission to access files and other systems the smartphone will be recalled, the application will no longer be able to send notifications, and all temporary files will be removed. In this case, you will still be logged in to this program and save all downloaded data (for example, books, episodes of TV series, etc.).
This way, you can clean up the space occupied by temporary files and save battery power by turning off unnecessary notifications. This can be useful on smartphones with 64 GB of memory or less - such models are still popular in the budget segment.
In addition, in the settings of each application, you can change this parameter manually: for example, revoke permissions and notifications for all programs, except for the messenger, which you rarely use, but still use and do not want to miss message.
It is worth noting that this feature may not be included in the final build of Android 12: if something does not suit Google during testing, the release may be postponed. We can find out the details next month at Google I / O.
