They will receive improved Apple Silicon chips - even more powerful than the M1.
Last week Apple announced about the first presentation in 2021 - it will take place on April 20 and will be held online. According to rumors, the main focus of the event will be on the iPad Pro, but just the other day, an insider L0vetodream hinted at an equally important announcement.

On Twitter, the source posted an image of the iMac G3, launched in 1998 and available in five colors, alongside a stylized company logo from an invitation to the upcoming announcement. Portal 9to5mac thinksthat an insider hinted at the release of a new generation of iMacs, which will also be available in new colors.
And this analogy does not seem far-fetched, since rumors about such an update to the line have already been were received from John Prosser. According to the latter, the fresh iMac will receive the trendy flat edges that the manufacturer uses in the iPad and iPhone, and will be released in five colors. The metal leg of the candy bar will remain the same, as well as the set of ports, but the screen itself will receive narrower frames on all sides.
Also back in January about such a novelty wrote Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. According to him, the iMac will feature a design inspired by the Apple Pro Display XDR, and it will be "one of the most significant visual updates to Apple products this year."
As part of the redesign, the iMac lineup's display sizes are expected to increase from 21.5 inches to 24 inches and from 27 inches to 30 or 32 inches. On April 20, only one of the models can be shown, and most likely it will be a 24-inch version with a powerful proprietary Apple Silicon chip.
