MacRadar offer readers a little preview of the much-anticipated review web service MobileMe. We remind you that this service is a modernized .mac. MobileMe allows synchronizing data between different machines.
When you log in, then go directly to the iDisk mode (similarly .mac). At the top left a few buttons to navigate through your account. In my opinion, address book and calendar - are two of the coolest features of service. At least, I find it of great use.
iCal is incredibly easy to use and is very similar to its offline parent. To make a new event in kaledar need to allocate space of time, and double click (easy and can not be).
If you go into your account options, you can do more fine-tuning. For example, select the language (currently only available in English, French, German and some Asian, probably Japanese languages). It is also possible to correct (if you make a mistake during the registration) Personal information, set your time zone (by default, of course, Cupertino), Change the password and the data for payment, set quotas on disk space. You can also set a personal domain (
it requires a registered domain and it is recommended to use iWeb'08)What else to add? MobileMe works pretty fast (I've used Safari latest stable version (for Mac and for Windows)). Working in Mozilla Firefox, I noticed snubs when switching between menu options. Synchronization with its poppy I have not tested it, so this point is omitted in this review.
Subscription to MobileMe for one person costs € 79, and a family pack costs € 119. More information and video reviews available on Apple's official website.
