Breathing, nutrition, and effective techniques will quickly get back on track.
A new useful thread has appeared on Twitter. In it, journalist Irina Shcherbakova tells how to cope with rush jobs and not lose your mind in the process. The result is a collection of tips and techniques in which everyone can find something for themselves.
A thread for those who are in the rubble, tired and do not take out. I do it because I myself have worked for a long time not even in emergency mode, but using the emergency response method. I hope that what I learned over the years of therapy will be useful to you - I made it into simple practices.

An important thing that I did not want to understand for a long time: not only the head, but also the body are responsible for tension, depression and fatigue. Your feelings are influenced by thoughts, mental stress, and the general state of the body.

Hence practice 1. Check when was the last time you were out. And if you haven't been for a long time, leave - this, oddly enough, affects the work. When I wrote to the psychotherapist, nervous that I would not have time for anything, she asked me to put away the phone and take a brisk walk down the street. 20 minutes

It helped me - after the walk, the rubble seemed much less scary. This was partly due to the fact that the body responds well to going out for air. Partly - because I did not switch attention for a long time.

Practice 2. Check what's with your breath. When I came to my therapist in a very agitated or very depressed state, the first thing she asked me to do was to do breathing exercises. Slow breathing is calming.

Practice 3. Written exercises. For almost two years it was the most effective for me. How did I do it? If I came to work and realized that I was too nervous to do a good job, I spent the time that I could spend on coffee writing down and analyzing my thoughts.

What's the surprise? Behind your anxiety and doubts about your abilities, other feelings may actually be hidden - suppressed aggression, resentment someone who somewhere pressed on you or said the wrong thing, the feeling that you have offended yourself somewhere and have taken on yourself something that is not want to

Writing practice often helps to get rid of just such feelings - after them I felt as if a boulder had fallen off my shoulders. Here is some good writing practice from psychotherapist Katerina Suratova, I've tried:https://t.co/B6OSaJIi51

What is important to understand in situations where you are both anxious and tired but have to work? 1. Until you understand the voltage, it will be difficult to work. 2. You could procrastinate those 20-30-40 minutes anyway. Allow yourself to spend them on yourself to get things done
- Ira Shcherbakova (@ scherbakova7) April 7, 2021
Now about food. 1. You will not make up for a lack of energy with food if you are already full (I have done this many times, neither sugar nor burger helps to work). 2. If you are hungry and have a rush, please take 10 minutes and eat your lunch without looking at your phone or monitor.
- Ira Shcherbakova (@ scherbakova7) April 7, 2021
Why is it important? Because this does not work either to satisfy hunger or to work: there are too many incentives from all sides. And because, again, food is your way of shifting your focus from tasks to something else and relaxing. While writing this thread, I was distracted by bacon and eggs.
- Ira Shcherbakova (@ scherbakova7) April 7, 2021
That's all for me. I wish you success, completed projects, pride in the work done and a good well-deserved rest. Even if you have a blockage now, you can clean it up
